More than 120,000 Amazing Alumni make us Different, Daring, and Diverse.
At UNLV, we don't settle. We always reach for more. And we're on the rise. Each year the UNLV Alumni Association honors the best and brightest from UNLV. Do you know an outstanding graduate, faculty member, or volunteer.
Juan Rodriguez, ’03 BS Biology, was named a Mountain States “Rising Star” for 2015 by Super Lawyers. He is an attorney in the intellectual property section of the Las Vegas office of Howard & Howard.
Blake Gross, ’05 JD, is a partner with the law firm of Wood, Smith, Henning & Berman. He also serves as a member of the alumni board for UNLV’s Boyd School of Law.
Keith Pickard, ’11 JD, drafted and was the principal lobbyist for assembly bill 263, which was enacted earlier this year by the Nevada Legislature. The law will harmonize previously conflicting rules regarding the bases for child custody determinations by dropping prior threshold tests based upon gender and prior marital status in favor of a “child-centered” test. It also adjusted the calculus for relocation cases so that the interests of the child are placed ahead of the tactical goals of a parent. He practices family law at his firm, Pickard Parry Pfau.
Jennifer Oshiro, '05 BS Hotel Administration, '08 Master of Education - Educational Leadership, was promoted to senior sales manager, groups for Cirque du Soleil, resident show division, and Blue Man Group Las Vegas. She and Kurtis Rivers recently were married in Zion National Park. They met while working at Blue Man Group. She also is giving back by volunteering for the Hospitality College with new student welcome calls and alumni events.
